Smile

Tonight I have a very quick card for both of the My Favorite Things Challenges this week - Sketch #525 (see below) and Color #157 (see below.) This is for a special male friend of mine. The stamp is from an older MFT set which doesn't have the name on it, but consists of splotches and water color type markings. For the sentiments I used "Smile Maker" from MFT also. Here's my CAS 4-bar card (Clean And Simple.)

Happy Valentine's Day

Continuing the Valentine's theme of late, this card was inspired by my wishes for winter to be over (!) and the beautiful "Butterfly" stencil set from Newton's Nook. The current Inky Paws Challenge 140 is a color challenge, see below. I used Nuvo Glimmer Paste in sapphire blue and moonstone (with Distress Pink Raspberry added) for my butterflies after the first layer of Distress Black Soot. Of course the glimmer paste gives the butterflies a beautiful dimension. For more dimension I used a die to cut an interesting pattern on the right side. The sentiment is from an older Technique Tuesday stamp.

Happy Heart

Another quick Valentine's card. This time inspired by My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 525, see it below. I tried something I haven't done much = used a stencil for dry embossing! The MFT "Background Hearts" stencil was perfect to add a little interest and dimension to the card base. The patterned papers were from previous MFT packs and the little rabbit is from "Wonderful Woodland Friends."  The white bow finishes the simple design. This is for the MFT sketch challenge and also for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Virtual Hug

Working on Valentine Cards ahead of time especially since the mail is so slow these days! I purchased a new My Favorite Things stamp set recently, "I Miss Your Hugs." This set along with the current MFT Color Challenge 157 were my inspiration for this card. Check out the colors below which I used for my card stock and added a bit of silver with embossing with an old Stampin' Up background stamp and silver paper for the larger heart. The panel was cut with Spellbinder's Candlewick Rectangle Die. I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Make a Background."

Hopping by to say Happy Valentines

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week is "On A Roll" so this little Valentine's Day fits pretty good. Lots of circles on the patterned paper cut with MFT "Wonky Rectangle" die and the highlighted kangaroo from Art Impression with a little grass below his jumping feet! I'm adding this to the SSS Monday Challenge.

Happy Birthday

This card project uses several of my favorite stamps and dies. The Spellbinders fancy oval frame fits perfectly on an A2 card to highlight your main image. In this case, the focal point is Altenew "Best Mom" stamp/die colored with copic markers. The background of the card was created with two large stamps: one from Just Rite called "Script" and one from Gina K called "Petite Flourish."  The sentiment strip has white embossed Happy Birthday from My Favorite Things. I'm entering this card in the Altenew January Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Birthday Wishes

Another simple card for my birthday stash. This one uses Hero Arts Butterfly stamp and die. Again, I emphasized them with a circle inked in blue distress ink and a black border on bright colored paper. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (one of my favorites) and "to you" if part of another sentiment stamp I cut in half from Lawn Fawn. Placing this in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

Big Hugs

Thinking of flowers now that the winter holidays are finished. This card project started with creating a gold embossed background using an Impression Obsession stamp, then highlighting my flowers with a black circle frame. The flowers are Simon Says Stamp "Beautiful Flowers 1" stamp set. I added three nuvo drops in gold tone and "big hugs" from SSS. Entering this in Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and Wednesday Challenge.

Thinking of You

This "Thinking of You" card can be used for many occasions! That's why I like to make them. This one fits both of the Simon Says Stamps Challenges this week. The background was made with an Impression Obsession Stamp with vines I just love. The Altenew circular flower sprig is colored with Zig water color markers and cut with a circle die. I added the lace and ribbon for a little extra. Placing this on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and Wednesday Challenge.

Masculine Birthday

I'm getting back in the challenge mode - here's a quick blog post for a simple masculine card I made for a friend. The hat is from Inkadinkadoo and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. I used coordinating patterned paper for a quick design.  Entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

You Are Amazing

I always need a few masculine cards, so I created this one with masculine colors, blue and brown shades, using the My Favorite Things "Chunky Chevron Cover Up" and some patterned paper I love. The geometric feel of this die lends itself to masculine cards. The sentiment on here is from Altenew. I'm placing this on the MFT Color Challenge #157.

Stinkin' Cute

Another kid's Valentine's Day card. This one uses a Lawn Fawn stamp called "Stinkin'Cute" colored with copics and matched up with some skunk patterned paper. This is going on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Layer It Up."

Happy Valentine's Day w/ Penny Black

I am making some Valentine's Day cards for a bunch of kids. I love this stamp from Penny Black called "So Kind." I colored this one with Zig Real Brush Markers and Karin Markers (which are new to me.) I found this multi color patterned paper with a design that looks like little hearts! The sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo. This is for the Penny Black January Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Wonderful Year of Happy Memories

A very good friend had a special birthday a few days ago so I wanted to make something special for her. This monochromatic card is a different look for me, but it was a good challenge. It's for the Poppy Stamps January Challenge. Very hard to see, but the white "Snowflake Tall Curve Border" is on top of glitter paper cut with the "Tall Curve Background" dies. I started with the Oval Fold Frame and added the details. I used a glue pen to draw around the oval and added glitter to tie in the white glitter theme. The sentiment is from "Friendship and Kindness" stamp, also from Poppy. I also want to post this on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Layer It Up."

Cold Outside!

So, yea, I have been in the craft room a bit more than usual! Getting a little relief from the upsetting events which our county is experiencing right when we thought 2021 would allow us to turn a corner! But someone in the White House won't face reality. Counting down the days!

I love little Newton, the cat from Newton's Nook, but don't have too many stamps from them. So, I created this card using two different sets - "Newton's Book Club" and "Wagon of Wishes." The trees are an old Inkadinkadoo stamp and then sentiment is from The Ton. It was perfect for this scene with cozy Newton! And fits the Inky Paws Challenge #139 Cozy Winter! I used Distress Ink for the sky and a white gel pen for snow. Except for the masking, it came together pretty quick and will make a cute "hello" card for anyone I know.

New Home Watercolor

Continuing with my New Years Resolution to do more water color - another card with Art Impression Stamps! I am still finding "snow" a challenge, but I think this turned out pretty good. I did not use the tree stamp in the Wooden Door set. Instead I used a branch from the Fir Trees Set. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession "No Place Like Home." Going to enter this in the Art Impression January Challenge "Resolutions."

Happy New Year Shaker

Lucky me, I have a shaker card from New Years which I didn't add to my blog yet! So now I can post it to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Shake It Up."  Love the way these turned out.

Altenew Anemone

My card today uses another new stamp set which I purchased some time ago, but never got around to using - Altenew Build a Flower Anemone. I tried several different color combination and liked this one the best. After I stamped the large flower, I wanted a bud to match so I used one from a different Altenew set and colored it with copic markers matching the original inks from Altenew. The leaf sprig is from Clearly Besotted "Leaf Accents" with stamped veins from a leaf in Hero Art's "Let Love Grow." The back ground of the panel was created with distress ink, MFT "Typewriter Text" stamp, and Hero Arts "Dot Moire." I made a second card changing up the background a bit and using a new die from Penny Black "Curved Stitch" to cut the panel and add a sentiment in the middle.

This card is for the Altenew  January Inspiration Challenge, the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Something New" and Monday Challenge "New/Unsued."

Can't Wait to See You

This card was inspired by My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 523 and uses a new stamp set so I am entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Something New" and Monday Challenge "New/Unsued." I used the MFT "Stitched Coverup" die, flowers from "Silhouettes," pattern paper from MFT "Tranquil  Textures," and a sentiment from "I Miss Your Hugs." It ended up being monochromatic, which works fine.

Sending Loving Thoughts

It's fun to use new stamps and dies so these cards fit perfectly into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Something New" and Monday Challenge "New/ Unused." I used a new die/stencil set from Memory Box called Fun Floral Sidekick Frame & Stencil, a few Distress Inks and some flower dies. The sentiment on this first card is from a newer SSS stamp.

Good Luck

Happy 2021! A resolution I have for this year is to do more water color. Here's one of my new cards using water color and Art Impression stamps. Entering this in the Art Impression Challenge "Resolutions" and the Simon Says Stamp challenges - Wednesday "Something New" and Monday "New/Unused."
