Be Joyful

Getting a head start on my Holiday cards with one of the cutest stamps from Penny Black called "Winter Wonderland." It's been around a long time, but I just love these little birdies. I decided to copy a design I had made a few years ago altering it by adding some newer branch stamps. The birds were water colored and the branches were stamped with regular dye ink. I added some glitter to the Santa caps and mounted the panel on red background. I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Early Bird."

Deepest Sympathy

A quick post today. I just got a new stencil from Picket Fence and tried it out with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. I didn't realize it would look like lace until I finished the ink blending. Unfortunately,  I need more sympathy cards, so I used a floral design from Altenew and came up with this card project using the My Favorite Things Sketch design #498.

Hello

Every card maker I know will recognize this lovely lady! Of course she is from Tim Holtz Crazy Birds. This one is un-adorned, but together with the background makes a big statement.

The background panel was created with one solid card stock and one stenciled piece. The stenciled piece was made with an older stencil from Mint Owl Studios  -  I applied ink, moved the triangles a bit and stenciled a second time with Versamark and added white glitter embossing powder. It's hard to see in the photo, but it made the card sparkle and gave it dimension. I had the ribbon in my stash which completed the card.

I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Early Bird."

Oh, hi there!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is "Early Birds" this week and I love birds! I have a bunch of bird stamps, some I haven't even used yet. Maybe I'll get moving on those. But for now here is one which I made for a friend who loves Cats and Birds! This card project required some masking after I combined several different stamps from Great Impressions to create the scene which I water colored. I just love these kitties and knew my friend would, too!

Happy Birthday Chevron

Hello Blog land! I have another card for the Color Challenge #145 over on My Favorite Things Blog. I started with a panel of Berrylicious and used the "Chunky Chevron" cover plate die to create the overall design. Using the cover plate on some other matching patterned papers from MFT allowed me to "fill in" the chevrons with different card stock. The sentiment is from "Big Birthday Sentiments" on the "Fishtail Banner Stax" set. The envelope was stenciled with "Scattered Bars Stencil." I love this cover plate and have used it for many masculine cards!

With Sympath

We all know how much inspiration card makers get from Jennifer McGuire! The card project below was inspired by her recent video called Faux Monoprint - My Favorite Technique. You can find it here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUmCBxrqPGU&t=1581s

I made several panels with this technique and put them aside for future projects. The one below is going out this week, sadly, to my cousin who lost her brother to cancer last Wednesday. I thought the muted colors and white wild flowers made a great backdrop for a sympathy card. The stamp for these wild flowers is from Penny Black called "Feathery" and the rectangle die from Spellbinders is "Candlewick." The die cut sentiment "with sympathy" is from Simon Says Stamp. I am entering this card in the SSS Monday Challenge "Play with Paint."

Miss Your Smile

Today's card was inspired by the My Favorite Things Color Challenge #145, see below. It was a nice break to get away from the usual pinks and corals I like to use. The Tropical Teal and Berrylicious look dark in the pic of my card, probably because they are heat embossed. I used the Concord and 9th Dahlia Turnabout for this one layer card and MFT "Smile" stamp set.

Art Impression Boy & Girl

I have been playing with my Art Impression Stamps and water coloring on and off. These two images will go in frames for my grandchildren... when I am able to pick up some frames. As of now I don't "go shopping" except for necessities because of the Corona Virus.... so not sure when I will be able to give these two little pictures to my two little precious little ones.

Thanks to AI's Bonnie Krebs, with a bit of practice anyone can really make these cute scenes!
Not going to list all the stamps because I use a ton of them. All are from Art Impression,
and I use Tombow Dual Brush Markers with these stamps. Thanks for visiting.

Sending Hedgehugs!

I like to send cards to my daughter who is on the other side of the continent from me!! I don't know how much she appreciates them (!) but I enjoy it, so it's worth it for me! For this one I used the Sketch #497 from My Favorite Things for this week. You can see other cards entered into the challenge by clicking on the link and the sketch design is below.

I used "Wonderful Woodland Friends" stamp set and two different patterned papers from MFT.  I just love the "Sending Hedgehugs!" sentiment which is basically why I picked this image to send to my daughter.

With Heartfelt Sympathy

I am still practicing with water color. This stamp from Ellen Hudson "Mondo Hydrangea" is a huge, gorgeous image and this was colored with Zig Real Brush Markers. I added the yellow centers with Nuvo Drops at the end after stamping with an old script stencil.  The sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps. I was happy with how this turned out! Sending Hugs Your Way

I have been trying some water color again. It is a whole new experience - that's for sure. Here's one card I just finished using my Daniel Smith water colors which came out OK. I think the colors are too dark and will make adjustments next time I use this SSS stamp (which I really like!) Going to post this on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Play With Paint.

Friend

A quick entry today so I can enter this card in the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #497. It's a simple thank you card with some bluebirds! The sketch is below.

Friends!

A happy card for summertime! These strawberries are from an older Sunny Studio stamp "Fresh and Fruity" which I wanted to have a bumpy feel to add dimension, so I clear embossed over the black spots then water colored them. The container is from Gina K "Beyond Baskets;" a set I really like. The patterned paper makes the project go fast! This is for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Bright & Cheerful" and the SSS Instagram Challenge here - Friends!
