Welcome to my blog. Ten years ago I discovered that making cards was super fun. I keep learning as I watched many expert crafters and artists on the internet. Thanks for stopping by.

Full of Surprises
My second birthday card for kids is a little more masculine with greens and corals for the Color Challenge 136. The focal point is an image from "Friendly Foxes" and a balloon from "It's Time to Celebrate." I found some patterned paper with colorful dots in the same colors which I cut into strips and incorporated to complete the Sketch Challenge Design. The images are colored with copic markers.
Happy Birthday Mouse
My stash of kiddie birthday cards is low, so I created two with critters following the My Favorite Things Challenges for this week. Here's the first one with a peach color focus and a cute mouse from "It's Time to Celebrate" for both the Color challenge #136 and the Sketch challenge #477. I am also going to enter this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Add a Sentiment" and the Monday Challenge "Frame It."

You are Pretty Amazing
More flowers! I used several stamps to create my own patterned paper, and die cut one flower and a flourish-like leaf stem to enhance my card project. Most of these products are from Simon Says Stamp. The inside of the card contains a large sentiment stamp from My Favorite Things. I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Add a Sentiment."

Big Hugs
Getting in the mood to make cards with flowers and I always need birthday cards, so here is a project I finished last night. The photo doesn't capture the gold scrolling very well, but it was done with Delicata Gold ink and a large stamp from Impression Obsession. The flowers and leaves from Simon Says Stamp "Beautiful Blooms 2" are water colored.
I was inspired to use the sentiment to "frame" the flowers like the sketch for this week's My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #477.
And I can also add this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Add a Sentiment."

Sweet Easter
One more Easter card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Frame It." This is a Penny Black stamp, copic colored and a frame die from Reverse Confetti. I just love this little scene. Since I couldn't fit a sentiment on the front, I added one on the inside with some jelly beans and more polka dot paper on the side.

Hopping By With Chocolate
I needed some new ideas and stamps for Easter so I purchased a new Simon Says Stamp set. "Eggstra!" I have used it for several card in the past two days. Here's one which I decided to put in a frame from My Favorite Things. This is for the Monday Challenge "Frame It."

Joyous Easter
Yep, I started my Easter Cards! I knew I wanted to use this frame die with birch trees from my Christmas stash, and from now on I will leave it out because it's easily adapted for other occasions! I removed a few trees to make room for the basket. I love this basket die set (Waffle Flower.) Now the card is perfect for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Frame It."

Egg-cellent Easter!
I was digging around in my craft room looking for a specific frame die (which I eventually found!) and realized I should get out my Easter/Spring box of supplies. Of course, I had to play around with a few of them once I went through THAT box, and I ended up with a pretty cute card using the current colors for the My Favorite Things Challenge #135. They are perfect for Easter! Check them out below. I stamped each egg, then re-stamped with embossing ink and heat set each egg to give it a shiny finish! So my first Easter card 2020 is complete!

Smile
Squeezed in some more craft time! Here's another card using the Sketch Challenge 476 for My Favorite Things. I had this design for ink blending in my head but couldn't decide what kind of card to make, so I went with a generic "Smile" which I can use for a few different occasions. The sketch is shown below along with the card of course!

Happy Dance
A second card project using a cutie pie mouse from Stacey Yacula's "It's a Mice Time to Celebrate." This one is doing a happy dance for the birthday celebration!
Again, I used the Sketch Challenge #476 as a guide to my design.
I am also placing this card on the MFT Birthday Project Challenge for February.
Put on Your Party Hat!
About a month ago I finally bought a few Stacey Yacula stamp sets from My Favorite Things. I had some images from her years ago from a different company, but was happy to see her producing stamp images for MFT. I colored a bunch of image from the set "It's a Mice Time to Celebrate" and used them on card projects over the last two days. Here's the first creation, basically following the Sketch #476 Challenge and theColor Challenge #135. (see below) It also fits with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Two or More Patterned Paper."

Love
Another quick post for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Two or More Patterned Papers." The focus of this card is the flowers which I made with a punch from Martha Steward in various matching paper. The upper right hand corner design was accomplished with a stencil offset in two gray colors. This card can be used for all kinds of occasions!
Love & Hugs
A quick post today with a birthday card using some pattern paper from Gina K. Designs. If you have not used her paper, you might want to try it because it is so smooth, with brilliant colors. Here I made a little scene in the center with some Art Impression stamps and added bright butterflies around the outside from SSS. This is for the current SSS Wednesday Challenge "Two or More Patterned Papers."

Rainbow Sprinkle
A fun card forcing me to try something out of my comfort zone, but I actually love how this turned out! This abstract design is a stamp from My Favorite Things which I stamped and turned upside down every other color using the Challenge #135 colors (see below.) Then I added a stamped sentiment in black which is perfect for this design and the bright colors! I don't often make abstract designs, but I think they are a nice change! Thanks for visiting today.
Miss You
A quick card for my daughter who lives across the country using the colors for this week's My Favorite Things Color Challenge #135. These images are from an older MFT set with lots of birds and butterflies called "Things with Wings." The grass with the cut out sections is new to me, and I cut a portion of it down to make a more slopping hill. This allowed me to follow the plan for this weeks MFT Sketch Challenge #475. You will find the sketch and the colors for these challenges below.

Best Wedding Wishes
I recently made a wedding card with a stamp from Rubber Neck called "First Kiss."
I just love this stamp because it's simple yet elegant. I used a new embossing folder
from We Are Memory Keepers with hearts which I also thought turned out very nice.
This card is going on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "With Love."
Official Memo: Happy Birthday
Today's card was made specifically with the My Favorite Thing Sketch in mind. I needed more masculine birthday cards and had made some patterned paper with the MFT set "Get Down to Business." This is the final results. Here is where you can see the other creations which match the sketch: Sketch #475.

Happy Birthday
I don't usually buy "kits" from the various paper crafting companies, but when I saw the Hero Arts kid for January, I couldn't resist. It looked like a great value for the cost and I loved the whole idea of a bouquet of flowers wrapped in newspaper. This was something I had admired in stamps before but never bought.
The kit is sold out now, but you can see all of the items in it as well as the pieces used to make the bouquet of flowers in the picture below. Making all the flowers, stems, and leaves was a bit tedious, but the results are wonderful. I used an inking method which I saw done by Jennifer McGuire here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XtE8x8rd8w&t=670s rather than cut the flowers out of colored paper. I love how this turned out! Here is a close up of the card as well. I am placing this card on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Floral Frenzy."

Beautiful Flowers
I had some copic colored flowers from Simon Says Stamp "Beautiful Flowers" set which I finally used on a card project. I did not add a sentiment to this card figuring I could add one inside depending on the occasion - birthday, sympathy, thinking of you, whatever I needed at a future date. Of course I used pink - many of my flower designed cards are some shade of pink or lavender! This one is enhanced by gold details.

Daisy Birthday
I love this newer Simon Says Stamp set called "Daisy Bouquet." I bought it around the holidays but was so busy with holiday cards, I didn't have a chance to play with it until now. I made two very similar cards.
I found some yellow striped paper which I loved behind the flowers so I tried to duplicate that "look" by making my own stripes, working around the copic colored flowers (see close up.) This process took a long time, so I opted to use the striped paper on the second card and die cut the flowers and placed them on top. I honestly don't see a whole lot of difference between the two cards. Paper crafting folks will know the difference, but the average person will not even think twice about it!

Someone Sweet
I know you must be sick of Valentine's Day cards, but I couldn't help myself from going back to this adorable stamp from My Favorite Things' called "Beautiful Girl which also has cute flowers and hearts. The sentiment is new for me - Hero Arts's "Loving Messages." These cards will fit into two challenges, SSS Floral Frenzy for the Monday Challenge and SSS With Love for the Wednesday Challenge. I varied the colors just slightly between the two cards, which might be hard to see in the photo. One is Copic RV55 (a pink) and the other is R43 (more like a deep coral.)
Amazing You!
A quick post highlighting some Simon Says Stamp products I used for a special card
which I made for my friend who is battling cancer. She is truly "AMAZING"
because she is always upbeat with an optimistic attitude every time to talk to her!
I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "With Love."
Sprinkled With Love
Working on increasing my card supply - made this birthday card using a Turn-About set from Concord & 9th. It will fit perfectly into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "With Love." One great thing about this card - it can be used for almost anyone, a child or an adult.

Framed Florals
I came across this die frame from Reverse Confetti which I haven't used in a while and wanted to play with it again. This is the outcome, a "thinking of you" card. I used some smaller flower stamps to create my own floral paper because I wanted to tie in certain colors; then I cut and embossed several large flowers for a cluster in one corner. The largest one is from Technique Tuesday and I have always liked it! This is my first entry into Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Floral Frenzy" ,and it's not too late to also place it in the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes."
