Celebrate

Hello again, friends. I wanted to try a new stamp set I bought recently called "Piece of Cake." Here's the card I put together using the current My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #313. I added the little brown "paper clip" in place of another piece of card stock for some variety! I love the aqua and brown together and feel this card could work for a masculine birthday as well as a female! Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Party

Happy New Year, Bloggers! I have a super cute birthday card today.
It's a shaker card, which is always a challenge for me, but it turned out great.
I made this card for my grandson who will be 9 in two weeks! I am entering it in the

Celebrate!

This is a Rubbernecker stamp, water colored for any kind of celebration you like! I bought this stamp a while back and experimented with mixing some water colors together for the first step. The second step adds the black outline and stem.

Happy Cake Day

Today I have a birthday card for my stash featuring the My Favorite Things "Celebrate With Cake" stamp set to fit the current Sketch Challenge #313.  The photo is a little hard to see, but you can just about make out the light pink cakes in the back ground which pick up on the shades of pink in the abstract rectangle made with "smooshed" distress inks. I think I will add a few sequins before I send it off! If you want to read the Challenge rules or see the other entries, just click on the link!

I am also going to enter this card project in the
the other entries by clicking on that link!

Bright Wishes

Today I have a cute Christmas card using a Penny Black stamp which I love - these three caroling mice during a snowy night! They are water colored and double mounted with some patterned paper. I am entering this card in the Penny Black Saturday Challenge "Winter or Christmas"

Big Hugs

Hi Bloggers. I have a 2nd card to celebrate the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Party Time. It's a shaker card which I intend to give to my granddaughter. The fairies are stamped and colored with copic markers as are the stars and hearts in the middle floating up from the big sparkle star with holds the sprinkles! The patterned paper around the edges has stars in several colors framing the scene.

This week on the Wednesday Challenge for Simon Says Stamp it's ANYTHING GOES, so I'll enter the card there as well!

Happy New Year

For Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge the theme is PARTY TIME! So of course New Year's Eve is the first part of the year! Here's my card to celebrate!

The water color paper was sprinkled with
Brusho in several colors for the background. Then, I used a stencil from MFT for the
fireworks (white embossing powder with versa mark ink.) I also used the white embossing powder for the sentiment. The champagne
glasses were lightly colored with some Wink
of Stella Silver Glitter Pen, cut out and adhered with pop up dots to the card.

This week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge the theme is ANYTHING GOES< so I'll enter my card there as well. Thanks for visiting and Happy New Year everyone!

Scripty Merry Christmas

Hello bloggers and crafters. As I said in my last post I did not publish all of my holiday cards this year, but here is one which is sparkly and fits nicely into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge SPARKLE!

I used a bunch of different products for this card including Altenew's Poinsettia stamp, water colored after embossed with black powder, cut out and adhered to some patterned paper. I added a red frame around the image and a strip of vellum across the bottom for the embossed sentitment from Lawn Fawn. The flower and leaves are covered with Wink of Stella for a shimmer which is hard to see in the photo. Thanks for checking out my card today.

Sparkly cards

Hopefully you had a great holiday. I was very successful with my card efforts this year, managing to send 100 cards to the Caring Hearts Card Drive (for elderly folks in nursing homes) and another 35 cards to sailors on US ships for the holidays. Of course that was in addition to the ones I made for myself. I did not post all of them this year, but here is one which is sparkly and fit nicely into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge SPARKLE!

I used a bunch of different products for this card including Lawn Fawn's Snowflake die and silver glitter paper around the snowflake cut with a scalloped die. Thanks for checking out my card today.

Happy Holidays

December Pin-Sights Challenge Photo

Happy Holidays Blog Land!! It's been ages since I posted any thing on the blog. I'm sure you were just as busy as I was and probably didn't even notice LOL. Here's a card, finally, for the Essentials by Ellens Classroom Pin Sights Challenge. Check out the inspiration to the right. It's screams Christmas! I love poinsettias so I focused on that image and used some water colors to create my focal point on this card. Then a little white on white for the mounting and gold embossing for accent. The outer rectangle is dry embossed with snowflakes (but very hard to see in the photo.) Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Tags Day 15

Here we are at Day 15 for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags with Tracey McNeely. My inspiration today came from Yainea Nunez. She has two snowmen but  I decided to add different friends for my snowman!

Christmas Tags Day 20

Today's tag is modeled after Tracey McNeely's. She used the beautiful poinsettia from Altenew as the focal point. I am sorry I could not copy and paste it here for you to see. You will find it here: 25 Days of Christmas Tags Day 20 and all of the other tags for this terrific challenge. Here is my tag inspired by Tracey's -

Christmas Tags Day 14

Hi Bloggers and Friends, Tracey McNeely made a tag with Santa as the focal point of course! I looked though my Santa stamps and selected one which I really like for my tag today. It is My Favorite Things. It turned out to be one of my favorite tags this season. I'm entering it in Tracey's challenge for Day 14 on her blog - In My Creative Opinion - 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Check out all the tags from this challenge and you can't help but be inspired!

Joy Tag

It's Day 13 at Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags Challenge. I love the tags by Laura Pryor, especially her wreath tag below. She and some other designers from Lil' Inker Designs made some beautiful tags for  Day 13 of Tracey's Challenge. Here's my wreath tag for Day 13 (on the right.)

Ho Ho Ho Tag

Lucky me - It's the weekend! I made two tags today for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags, which can be found on her blog In My Creative Opinion. My second tag today was inspired by Tracey's tag of Santa Claus! I wasn't able to copy and paste Tracey's tag here, but you can see it on her blog for Day 12. She used pretty plaid paper behind a stamped and colored Santa image. Here is my tag, inspired by Tracey's.

Cheers Tag

Hi Bloggers. Tracey McNeely is up to Day 12 on her 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Check out all the cute tag projects on her blog, In My Creative Opinion. Today she has designers from Serendipity Stamps and yesterday she had DT members from Technique Tuesday, two terrific stamp companies!

I took my inspiration from Jill Hawkins, Day 11. I especially liked how her tag (on the left) drew your attention to her snowman with the blue scalloped circle, so I used a scalloped circle die in a similar color for my snowman. I did change it up a bit by making my tag a circle instead of rectangle this time! Thanks for checking out my tag today!

Christmas Tag Day 8

25 Days of Chirstmas Tags Day 8 - I have another tag for this challenge! This one was inspired by Tracey McNeely's tag, which you can see below. My photo isn't very good on this one. The "Oh Joy" is white heat embossed and the Christmas ball is water colored with Wink of Stella glitter on top. Looking at it now I think I'll go back and round off the bottom corners and add a few sequins! Have a good rest of the week.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

The weekend is coming to a close, but I wanted to make one more Christmas tag before it was over. This week will be a busy one for me so I'm not sure how many tags I will be able to complete. I went back through the six days so far for The 25 Days of Christmas Tags Challenge from Tracey McNeely and found a lovely scene on this tag from Day 2 from Jeanne Jachna. I was inspired to make a scene for my tag although I did not stick to just two colors. I did use water color, snow, and a critter. My tag is on the right. Thanks for viewing  my blog this weekend!

Be Merry

My Tag

I am loving these Christmas Tags! Another one completed today for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags with Tracey McNeely. Tonight I was inspired by a tag by Heather Hoffman from Day 5. Check out her blog, Houses Built of Cards. I love the traditional colors and images in her tag. I used similar colors, but a poinsettia instead of holly and some ribbon instead of lace.

Heather's Tag

Noel Tag

Hi Bloggers. It's the 4th day of the "25 Days of Christmas Tags" Challenge from Tracey McNeely. I missed day 3... because we were a tiny bit busy ... we traveled to Delaware to see ... A NEW BABY!! Yep, my husband's son has a new daughter! Don't you just love snuggling with newborns! I certainly do.

So, skip ahead to day 4 of the challenge and this heart shaped tag caught my eye. It's from Melissa Bove and just gorgeous. I was inspired to use the same colors, shapes and basic design. Here's my tag for day 4 of the challenge. Check out Tracey's blog for all of the wonderful inspiration In My Creative Opinion Day 4 which came from the DT as Simon Says Stamp so you will recognize lots of the names there today.

25 Days of Christmas Tags Day 2

It's day two for 25 Days of Christmas Tags on Tracey McNeely's In My Creative Opinion Blog. Check out the fantastic tags there from her guests today from Poppystamps! They are truly amazing!

Sue McRae's tag
My Tag

I have selected a tag from Sue McRae to CASE today. I love the way the black sets off the Christmas colors! Obviously, mine is very similar to hers, except I had to create the outside section since I don't have the Poppystamp "Merry Christmas Tag."  If you head over to Sue's Blog Inky Fingers you can see exactly how she created her tag. I used Die Namics Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frame and the Season's Greetings die from Simon Says Stamp for the black part of the tag. Derwent Inktense Pencils were used to water color the poinsettias from Ellen Hutson's Mistletoe and Holly set, which I embossed with Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder prior to water coloring.

25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Last year I joined an inspiration and made a few tags for Christmas, following along with Tracey McNeely's blog In My Creative Opinion. This is Tracey's sixth year doing 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Yep, it started today! I was inspired by Tracey's tag today, with it's monochromatic color, sideways sentiment, and snowflakes. Here's my tag for today -

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone, I have another card for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #304.. The sketch is shown below. I decided to make a Christmas card with MFT "Sending You a Little Christmas" - water colored with Zig Clear Color Real Brush Markers and mounted on some MFT Fresh Squeezed Chevron Patterned Paper. Isn't this little girl so sweet with her mini tree?

For the snow, I used the Molotow masking pen  - dotted it on the paper, water colored the back ground, then removed the masking fluid. It worked great! For the snow on top of the image, I used tiny drops of  Imagine Craft's Irresistible "Wedding Dress"texture spray.

Hello Fall

I'm loving the cards I see all over the internet with fall leaves. I decided to use some of my leaf stamps and the Hero Arts Autumn Ombre' Ink to create this background. Then, I chose one of the MFT Pure Innocence for the focal point.

Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge #304.

I sent this one to my sister knowing she is raking lots of leaves in her yard right about now! Thanks for checking out my card.

Happy Birthday

"Scented Garden" by Penny Black was one of the first stamps I ever bought.
I loved it then and I still love it. I used copic markers to color the image this time
and a vertical sentiment from Verses. Here is the completed card, which I am entering into the

Thinking of You

Hi Bloggers, I wanted to create another card for the Essentials by Ellen Pin Sights Challenge for October because I love the colors of Autumn right now. So here's my card using Bohemian Garden and the sentiment from Mondo Hydrangea. I'm also entering this card in SSSWednesday Challenge.

The panel is made with water color paper  on which I added several colors from my Peerless Water Colors. The flowers were created with Distress Inks and Toffee Versafine Ink.
