Wedding with banner, ribbon, hearts!

This wedding card has "paper" ribbon for the banner, but also real ribbon which I colored lavender with my copic marker! I wanted a border on the top of the straight \part of the vellum, so that worked well. The white embossed swirling design tied in with the white on the card and the shimmery glow of the glitter paper helped keep the card formal. Going to enter this in the

Sympathy card

Most of us aren't happy about making sympathy cards,
but we want to let people know how we feel when a loved one is gone.
So, I made this card today for a co-worker. Coincidentally, Simon Says Stamp
has a challenge which fit the card so I am entering it in

Happy Haunting

I purchased the Lawn Fawn "Booyah" stamp set and couldn't wait to try it... then I realized I did not buy the dies! YIKES.... I knew what I wanted for the card, so I had to cut the pieces out by hand. Let me just say... I used to be good at cutting!! Here's the finished card.

Miss you a Latte

I bought some new stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti.

Then I realized they were having a challenge so I made this card.

I used some distress inks on the card base and found a nice brown paper with an embossed stone pattern. I cut the brown paper in a circular fashion as I wanted to follow the circular lines of the focal point. It made a perfect spot for the sentitment. The scalloped circle has a tiny graphic pattern in the same warm orange color. I stamped the coffee and used copic markers to do some coloring and shading. Lastly the vertical stripe was added. Below is the sketch pattern for the challenge.

Thank You. Really.

Another cute thank you card; this one with hearts and a little girl in a red dress with lace accent! This card was designed with the Sketch 249 in mind and I'm entering it in the My Favorite Things

My Favorite

 You Are My Favorite

I'm getting in the holiday mood. I used Essentials by Ellen "Mistletoe & Holly stamp set WITH "Going Places" by  W Plus 9 stamp set. First I stamped images on the bottom 2/3 of the card and added some red berries. Second, I stamped the little kitten waving toward my sentiment "You Are My Favorite" and tiny presents floating all around! I braided some dark green embroidery thread and used that for my border.

Best Witches

Three more Halloween cards! I'm using a lot of "kraft" color paper lately.
It just seems to go so well with the black and orange.

First card is 5.5 x 5.5 square base using lots of elements from Lawn Fawn, including the "For You" die. The witches hat is adhered with pop dots for dimension and the whole base is "outlined" in black dashes with a gel pen.

Second card is a shaker!!

I loved making this card ... after the first one, I made 4 more and changed up the greeting a bit. This die was perfect for a shaker! Had some trouble adhering the eyes, nose, mouth on top of the plastic but finally figured it out.

Third card highlights: background is a "acorn" stencil. Isn't it just so cute!!
This is one of the pumpkins left over from the shaker cards!
All the other elements are adhered to the card base.

Monday Challenge Autumn

Sandy Allnock, artist extraordinaire, inspired this card. All week Sandy Allnock has been doing FREE classes using gold products. She has them on her blog if you missed them. I created several cards based on her classes this past week (and enjoyed the classes so so much!) Sandy used the Gold Modellier Creme on the first day.

CARD #1 Giving Thanks w/ Gold paper from DCWV, Gold Modellier Creme, Gold sparkle washi tape, Gold Signo dashes, oh my!! The leaves are from Lawn Fawn, colored with Distress Inks and topped with the Modellier. The pumpkin is from Memory Box Dies and the tiny ribbon was in my stash. LOVE this card. Do you?

Autumn in the Air

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way this card turned out.
Sorry I didn't do such a great job with the camera this time!

Flower Get Well

I used a stamp set from Hero Arts to create the patterned paper, then found a die shaped like the flower in a Stampin' Up set, so I used that plus the leaves from Bold Blossom (Essentials by Ellen) to pop up on the card. I was able to embellish panel with a similar design.
I really like the way this card turned out!

Many Thanks Jar

I made this pretty card for a friend. It was my first attempt at coloring a jar of water. I wasn't thrilled with the results, but she said it was pretty good! So I was encouraged! I had to mask some of the flowers before coloring them with alcohol markers. For embellishments,I found some matching ribbon and adhered it to the left side of the card, stamped the dragonflies and used  corner punch on two corners. Happy Thanksgiving in Gold

This is my third and final card for WORLD CARD MAKING DAY. I'm entering it in the Lawnscape Challenge

All about the Sentiment

The top panel was made with a Hero Arts Stencil and Fossilized Amber Distress Ink (sponged on.) The leaves are a Lawn Fawn die onto which I applied Gold Modellier Creme. Sandy Allnock's Go For the Gold class demonstrated how to use this paste, and I also used it on the card base to add gold around the edge. For added sparkle the leaves were sprayed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold spray. The branches are a Memory Box die cut from black card stock. The sentiment is "Vintage Happy Thanksgiving" die from Poppy Stamps.

Here's a close up of the leaves, which are a bit shiny. Hard to tell with my camera!

Gold Poinsettias

Another card to celebrate the week long free classes by Sandy Allnock. Sandy used the Modellier Creme and the Delicata the first day, Zig Clean Colors on day 4 and 5.

This one uses "Poinsettia and Pine" stamp set from Altenew, colored with  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers on a water color panel after being stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder from Ranger. I used the Modellier Creme around the edges of a second panel and adhered both to a red card base. The sentiment is from Hero Arts "Stamp and Cut Ornament" using Delicata Golden Glitz Ink Pad.

Best of Friends: Ellen Hutson & W-Plus 9!

This card combines elements of the Essentials by Ellen "Bohemian Garden" stamp set
with some W-Plus 9 "Happy Mail" stamps and dies. The background was created using
Brusho water color powders in Lemon and Sea Green. I used a Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker for the blades of grass/weeds, trying some easy free hand water coloring. I know the sky is not yellow in real life, but I'm still working on that part of my water coloring! LOL

Bats & Spiders!

Entering this card in the SSS Wed Challenge Anything Goes

Used some patterned paper from last year for the back drop of this card. The rest of the elements are popped up with dimensionals except for the web which is adhered flat on the corner. The sentiment is heat embossed with orange embossing powder. It's from a Lawn Fawn set called "Booyah." OH geez, I forgot to draw a line from the spider to the web... let me go do that! LOL

Batty For You

Trying to create a look with dark images on light background, so I created this Halloween card with some stamps from Clearly Besotted after I used two Zig Clean Color Read Brush Markers in yellow and orange on white Neeneh Card Stock. Added gold stars by stamping with a small star image and using versa mark with some Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing powder from WOW. Hard to see the shine on here, but it looks good in person! For added interest I used an embossing folder for the card base from Design Objectives.

Ghoul's Night Halloween Card

Ghoul's Night Out!

Entering it in Lawnscape Too Cute to Spook Challenge

Created this card last night with some left over ghosts from a previous card! Hard to see but the accents are gold! Stars are gold, witch and pirate have gold on hats. I used some new orange embossing powder for the sentiment and it turned out better than I thought it would! I love this set from Lawn Fawn where you create "dressed up" ghosts for Halloween.
