This card project is perfect for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, "Frame It." Some of the products - Gina K. background stamp embossed in silver, Altenew Build-a-flower Hyacinth set, and the fancy frame from Spellbinders. The envelope is also a Gina K stamp. I love the color combination in this card.
Welcome to my blog. Ten years ago I discovered that making cards was super fun. I keep learning as I watched many expert crafters and artists on the internet. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Fall
Getting into the fall mood! This card is for the My Favorite Things Challenges - Wednesday SKetch Challenge 506 and Color Challenge 149. I used MFT "Autumn Blessing" for the sentiment, Die-Namics leaves colored with Distress Ink, and a Mint Owl Stencil for the frame. I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Frame It."

Bursting with Happy Wishes
This card is for a male friend's birthday and I just love the silly image from Art Impressions "Birthday Wishes" stamp set. I die cut the panel with the MFT "Wonky Stitched Rectangle" die and used a extra black panel underneath for another layer. I often do this to "frame out" my card images. The card base here is green, picking up on some of the colors in the image. I am entering this card in Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Favorite Stamp," Wednesday Challenge "Humorous," and Art Impressions challenge "To Die For."
Piles of Fun
Today's card was inspired by the current My Favorite Things Challenges. I cracked open a set I hadn't used yet called "Piles of Fun." I thought the sentiment "Hope Your Day Is a Pile of Fun" was perfect for the fall. The images are colored with copic markers and the plaid is from one of the MFT patterned paper sets. Check out the sketch and color chart below. For the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, I used the right column, Orange, Leaves, Plaid.

Sending a Smile
There had been two birds on the original print which I made using a stencil I cut myself from the Hero Arts "Coloring Layering Bird" stamp and die set. The birds were were not as prominent as I wanted them to be, so I used Distress Ink to enhance them, and I also used Distress Embossing Glaze (a new product for me) in Vintage photo on the tails and Crackling Campfire on the breasts of the birds! As you can see, this embossing glaze is different than regular embossing powders because it remains clear enough to see the design beneath the embossing. Hence, the designs on the bodies of the birds from the original Gelli Print can be seen though the glaze. I love how this turned out and the whole project took on a mixed media feel.
The sentiments are a mixed bag - Simon Says Stamp for the "Sending" die which I stacked three together for added dimension, and a MFT stamp from "Smile Maker" which I cut to leave "a smile for you." I am entering this card project in 2 more challenges, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Stamp It" and the TicTackToe Challenge #80 (see the grid below - across the top, stripes, masculine, and blue.)
