With Sympathy

This is an older Altenew layering stamp. I loved it when I first saw it so I had to finally  try it for myself. It does take some practice to master the layering stamps, but they are so worth it!  This is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Flower Power.

Just Arrived

Here's a cute "new baby boy" card using one of the cover plate dies from My Favorite Things. I do like these. especially when you can't think of a good layout. They give you a quick option. The stamps and dies are from Simon Says Stamp and Mama Elephant. I had the patterned paper in my stash.

I am entering this week's Sketch Challenge #486 from My Favorite Things. Here is the sketch:

Birthday Wishes

Finally made a few cards in between making masks! My friends are asking me for cards because they can't get to the store. I am more than happy to comply since it keeps me busy ... while we all stay at home due to Covid 19 Pandemic!

Here is a cheerful card made with MFT Flashy Florals and Fall Florals - for the "patterned paper" and cut out flowers. This one is for the Sketch Challenge #486. The sketch is below.

Some of the masks I have made in the past two weeks.

Big Hugs

This card is for the My Favorite Things weekly challenges. I felt like doing some coloring so I used copic markers on a flower image from Penny Black called "Efflorescence" in shades matching ripe raspberry. If you ever want to know which copic colors match shades from MFT, there is a guide specifically for this on their website. VERY HANDY! Then, I built the card around that image. The patterned paper is from MFT and the sentiment is from a Stampendous set I have had for a long time.

Below you'll see the color pallet and the sketch. You can find many beautiful cards on the MFT Sketch Challenge #483 and on the MFT Color Challenge #138 for the week.

Birthday Wishes

Hi Bloggers, I hope you are staying safe during these trying times. For those of you who are a bit older like I am, I urge you to ask a younger relative to shop for you if that is a possibility for your family. Better to be safe than sorry sounds lame in the context of our dire situation, but simple sayings are often the wisest!

This card project uses a background which I made a while ago using a stencil and distress ink with a spritz of Perfect Pearls. Then, I picked up the same colors to water color the stamped image of the lilies and used white embossing powder for the sentiment.

I am entering this card in two challenges: Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Spring Mood" and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Happy Birthday!"

Little Note

Below is a pretty card I made just for fun to send to a friend. I have used the SSS "Healing Hugs" stamp set a ton of times ever since I bought it. The flower frame is from this set. The patterned paper is from MFT and it was a very pretty set which came in lots of pastel colors. You might recognize the little fox which is also from MFT's designer Stacey Yacula. Entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Spring Mood."

Hello There

Sorry for the long pause - but I was distracted by the very serious situation in New Jersey with the pandemic. I just didn't find much time for crafting before now. But, after weeks of being so engrossed in the day to day changes in our world and local situation, I finally feel like I have a good grasp of what's happening in the country. At the same time, I feel okay about relaxing my attention enough to spend time in the craft room. I have been cooking more than usual, crock pot recipes and cookies! If I don't gain back the 15 pounds which I lost back in the winter, it will be a miracle! Every sunny day I say I am going out for a walk, but half the time it doesn't happen. I wonder how everyone else is making out and how each of you is using your extra time at home?

Here's a card I made just because I wanted to have a few for sending to friends. I combined a number of different products, some stamping, some copic coloring, some die cutting! This is for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Spring Mood. It's not quite full of flowers yet, but you can tell that winter is over!
