Welcome to my blog. Six years ago I discovered that making cards was super fun. I keep learning as I watch many expert crafters and artists on the internet. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday
Love this Altenew Stamp with MFT colors and some pattern paper in the background for a birthday card. This is good for just about anyone, except maybe a masculine birthday. I'm entering this card in two challenges - MFTColor Challenge # 144 and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes.
Beary Good Job
For the end of the school year (even though it was a strange one with Corona Virus!) I made a card for a friend's niece. Instead of using typical "school" theme stamps, I chose a different approach. Here's the finished card using the My Favorite Things Colors for this week's Color Challenge #144.
Also entering in SSS Wed Challenge Anything Goes.

With Deepest Sympathy
Unfortunately, sympathy cards are needed all year round, so this one features some flowers and a big butterfly. The stenciled background was supposed to create the look of a trellis. I think it worked pretty well. I added die cuts on top of the stamped flowers for more dimension.
This is for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Summer."
Happy Birthday Fishes
I made this card for a summer birthday and had some fun with the background panel using lots of products to achieve the "ocean." I just love the sentiment pun! Entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Summer Fun."
Happy Birthday
MFT sketch this week is probably one of the designs I use the most in my cards. I guess it's just appealing to my eye. Here's a card for this week's Sketch Challenge #494.
Greg's Birthday
You know you are too busy when you make a card following a challenge and then forget to post it!! I used the colors in the My Favorite Things Color Challenge 143 for this birthday card last week! Lucky for me it's not over until tomorrow. Quick, I posted it! Here are the colors:

Kathie HB
Finished another card! Have had lots of time since I've been sheltering at home during this time of corona virus. I hope you are all staying safe and being careful too.
For my girlfriend I used some patterned paper and created a flower to match with blue card stock and vellum. Added two stripes along the side and some white dots for flower centers and additional dimension. Entering this card project in the My Favorite Thing Birthday Project Challenge "This One's For You!"
Happy Times
A special card with robots, some shiny gold card stock, and two die cut window creates a great birthday card for a youngster! I used a bunch of products for this card project including Distress Inks for blending and a MFT cover die. The robots are one of the stamp sets from MFT as well. I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Something Metallic!"

Happy Father's Day
Another Father's Day card; this one with some bling. I made two versions of this card, one with gold tones and one with silver. Distress Oxide stripes applied to white card stock first; versamark clear ink on a large stamp from Impression Obsession called "Dotted Argyle" and heat set second. Lastly, I created a focal point with glossy card stock and a stamp from "Pretty Pink Posh." These are perfect for two Simon Stays Stamp Challenges this week: Monday "It's a Man Thing" and Wednesday "Something Metallic."
Full of Life
I have a bunch of Art Impression stamps with "girlfriends" and a few with "seniors," but I haven't used them much. Last week I made this card for a special friend and the images were perfect! The front of the card is an old stamp set from Inkadinkado, and the older man is from Art Impression. I can't wait to hear how he likes the card!!

You Make the World a Better Place
After experimenting with Yupo paper and alcohol inks, I ended up with some interesting designs
for background panels. This card is a creation using one of them. The shimmer paper was perfect to pick up the color of the metallic alcohol ink in the paper. I am adding this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Mr. & Mrs.
This card was going to be for my niece and her fiance' who were planning on getting married this fall 2020, but due to the Conona Virus they have decided to postpone the wedding until next Spring. Lucky me, I can hang on to this card until then and be prepared ahead of time instead of scrambling to make a card at the last minute! LOL
I love the SSS die cut hearts and have used it many times. This time I cut it from shimmery copper paper and use the same paper for the delicate scallop from Spellbinders. Additional gold Delicata hearts on the background pulls the color scheme altogether. Mr & Mrs are on vellum and the black card base helps to make the card more eloquent and formal.
This card is going on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Metallic."
Anna's Birthday
A friend asked me to make a card for her future daughter in law's birthday. She told me that ANNA likes red and purple, so I stamped some flowers using a brand new set I just got from The Ton and placed them in a vase from My Favorite Things, added some matching paper from Gina K Design and best of all, Anna's name! The addition of Glossy Accents makes this card pop. Unfortunately, the photo didn't turn out so good, but in real life it's a pretty card.
Lucky for me I can add it to the My Favorite Things Birthday Challenge "This One's For You!"

Logan
This card is for a special man in my life... little though he is! I am entering this in two challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "It's a Man Thing" and My Favorite Things Birthday Project "This One's For You!"
With Sympathy
My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge this week inspired me to create this simple card with a Gina K stamp and Distress Oxide Ink blending. I added the stenciled background and simple sentiment for a sympathy card. Entering this in the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #492. Here is the sketch and my card.
Cheers!
My neighbor asked me to make a special card for a friend's birthday. They were going to ride by his house in a caravan because during these Covid 19 days no one can celebrate in person! Here in NJ most of us are still adhering to social distancing, especially with non-family. These friends call themselves the Crazy 8's so I added that to the front of the card! These stamps and sentiments are from Simon Says Stamp and My Favorite Things. Entering this card in the SSS challenges: Wednesday Challenge "Masculine" and Monday Challenge "It's a Man Thing."
Number One Dad
Another Father's Day card in my stash which I can use or sell. I had received this small cabin stamp from Altenew as a free gift one time, and I love it for masculine cards.
I am entering this card in both Simon Says Stamp Challenges this week: Wednesday Challenge "Masculine" and Monday Challenge "It's a Man Thing."

Get Well Soon
I have one more post for this week. I was inspired to create these card by a very old video by Barbara Anders from 2015. I loved the layout so I used stamps and colors from my stash to re-create a card similar to hers. First, I created some background interest with several large background stamps from Just Rite and Stampin' Up. Then, black flowers from Technique Tuesday were stamped overtop of the brushstrokes stamped in three colors Snowcone, Berrylicious, and Blue Raspberry - all from My Favorite Things. The sentiment is from Hero Arts!
I am going to enter these cards in the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #492
and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Masculine Cards."
Sprinkled With Love
I finally jumped on the "Slim Line" bandwagon. This is my first try at that new size and I actually forgot to cut it down, so it was HUGE! I made my own envelope out of a 12 x 12 sheet of paper since the final card did not fit into a business size envelope ... because I forgot to trim down my panels before I started to decorate them! I also wasn't sure how to photograph this size card, so this may not be the best way. This card was for my son's 34th birthday! I used a bunch of different products including stencils (the bug balloons and big sprinkles from MFT,) stamps (birthday cake from Sugar Pea Designs) and a bunch of Distress Inks. I am submitting this card in 2 challenges: My Favorite Things Birthday Project Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
Father's Day Card
These are two of the Father's Day cards I made for this year's holiday. I just bought the die cut sentiment because I like this "look" for a masculine card - a creative and personalized background with the sentiment as the focal point. One of each of these is for my two sons. My own father has been gone for over 20 years, so he is in my thoughts, but he doesn't get a Father's Day card!
I used some stencils and distress oxide inks for these backgrounds. The stencil on the card to the left is from My Favorite Things called "scattered bars." I used an Altenew stencil on the card below called "weave builder." The "trick" for these stencils is to rotate the design a bit for each color to create the different looks. The word die is from Pretty Pink Posh.
On the inside I used another new stamp set from Dare 2B Artzy called Bear Hugs. Since we can't see our children in person due to the Covid 19 epidemic, I thought the 6 ft away hugs were perfect for this extraordinary time in our lives.
I am going to enter this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Make Your Own Background and the SSS Wednesday Challenge Masculine Cards. Thanks for visiting my blog.
