Bouquet for Mom

This was something new for me. I had seen Jenn Shurkus work with Tim Holtz new Distress crayons on a Periscope broadcast. I wanted to try the methods she used. This is the first completed card, but I didn't follow all of her steps on this one. Just the first few. Read below what I did...

and also on the Lawn Fawn Lawnscape Challenge Color Splash

I started with Ranger Texture Paste and applied it with a flat knife to a piece of Neenah card stock, leaving some areas thicker and some thinner. Taking a large 6x6 stamp (not sure whose this one is, maybe Hero Arts?) which was spritzed it water, I pushed it into the paste on the card. When I lifted the stamp up, there was a definite design in the paste. This dried overnight. Next, I used Distress Paint in Black Soot and covered the panel using a sponge applicator. As it dried it became a little lighter, which I expected. But the white raised swirls still showed through in most places.

I water colored some flowers from Essential by Ellen "Bohemian Garden" and cut them out with the coordinating dies and played around with their placement. I wanted to add "MOM" on the front so I ended up using a piece of green card stock across the bottom of the card for a contrast to the black and white background. Lastly, I added a little stem and bow to the bouquet using a Pretty Pink Posh die. I think someone's mom will really like this dimensional card!

Hello

I made this background with several Hero Arts stamps : Holiday Pine Branches, Happy Day Flowers, and Let Love Grow. I love making my own pattern paper this way. I also used the Bohemian Garden set from Essentials by Ellen to create the flowers and Ellen's die Hello for the greeting. Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Rectangle Stack die formed the shape of the panel. A fairly simple, yet pretty card.

Share Kindness

A quick post - here's a card I put together tonight. I had water colored the panel a few days ago and used white embossing powder to accent the flower (from Hero Arts) and the kindness sentiment (also Hero Arts.) The lavender frame was made using a My Favorite Things Blueprint die.

Woven Wonder

Another card today - this one is a woven wonder! LOL
Seriously, I love the Ma Ma Elephant Stripe Cover die!
And it just begs for other card stock to be woven through it -
so that's what I did. For the striped die I used aqua cork!
I put the whole thing on a kraft A2 card and added a few embellishments.
The hat stamp is from Recollections which I cut
using Die Namics In and Out Stitched Rounded Square.

Here's the inside of the card,
picking up one of the pattern
papers and the same shape
as the hat on the front
for the greeting!

By My Side

A new Thank You card using lots of My Favorite Things products - the whole card actually! I started with their plaid paper and matched it to 2 solids from their card stock. Next, I used the Blueprint #27 (brand new) for the panel and the Traditional Tag Stax for the tag. I used copics to color the images (bird is from Sunflower Sweetheart and little girl from It's a Sign.) The "Thank You" greeting is from Avery Elle (the only piece not MFT) and the "for being by my side" is from MFT Spring Wreath (another new stamp set.) Some bling and it's done. What do you think?

Calculations

Hi blog followers! I just had to buy a few of the new My Favorite Things stamp sets that came out last week... and they arrived yesterday! I played around with the "Get Down to Business" set and came up with this pretty simple card. Since masculine cards stump me, this set made the card simple! I used striped paper for the background, stamped a tag with the images, and added the cute sentiment. See the details below the photo.
