I have been playing around with some cute animal images for the holidays. This Thanksgiving card project uses stamps from Purple Onion. I combined Derwent Inktense water color pencils with regular water colors from Daniel Smith. At the last minute I added the little snail from MFT which had been previously colored with copic markers. Going to post this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Animal Antics."
Welcome to my blog. Ten years ago I discovered that making cards was super fun. I keep learning as I watched many expert crafters and artists on the internet. Thanks for stopping by.

Autumn Greetings
Hi! I am not sure how one is supposed to take pictures of slim line cards. My efforts just don't seem to capture the card design well because of the size. Here is my next effort at slimline. The dies I have are from Trinity Stamps, including the leafy border. The image is from Penny Black (love the pumpkin) and the sentiment is from an old Inkadinkado stamp. I wanted to participate in the TicTacToe Challenge, so this fits in with ~slimline, splatters, green~ diagonally. Check out the other projects here TicTacToe Challenge 83. And am also entering the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

Blessing to Me
A quick post so I can enter this card into My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 508 which ends tonight. I was working on these cards over the weekend, but got side tracked and had to finish it up tonight. I used a Gina K Design stamp set for the wreath, but I did not use the wreath builder. I stamped the small images where I thought they would look best. The card base was created with the MFT 's Splotchy Dot Background. The scalloped circle is from Spellbinders and the little bird is from "Piles of Fun" by MFT. I am also entering this card in the MFT Color Challenge 150.

Christmas Kitty
Trying to get ahead on my holiday cards. I made two of these combining lots of different stamp sets from different companies. The cat of course if from Art Impressions and I got the idea of the swing from Bonnie Krebs. The Christmas tree is from Hero Arts, and the background is a bunch of small stamps from various sets I have for the holidays. I love working with these little water color pictures from AI. I want to enter this card in the Art Impression Challenge this week "Homemade Holidays."
I am also putting it on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Animal Antics."

Hey There Pumpkin
I continued to play with the Distress Ink smooshed backgrounds I made - wanting to use a new MFT "Lots of Leaves" die for fall. I really love the frame dies which are out now. This one is gorgeous. And I used one of my all time favorites "Harvest Mouse" also from MFT. I used some stencils for a light background scene behind the mouse. I made two cards just the same except one is inlaid and the other is adhered on top of the smooshed panel. Being so much work to inlay all the little die cut pieces, I didn't have the energy to do it twice! LOL This card is for the My Favorite Things Color Challenge #150. Check out the color palette below. Also, entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Animal Antics."

Jump for Joy
I did some Distress Ink Smooshing with fall colors and then used the panels for a few card projects. This one is for My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #508. I used MFT "Piles of Fun" stamp set images colored with copic markers. Also going to enter this in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Animal Antics!'

Paw Prints
A friend asked for a sympathy card for a cat lover so I combined a few challenges and created this. The products are from My Favorite Things: You are Pawesome and Critter Condolences stamp sets. This card is going onto the MFT Sketch Challenge 507 and Tic Tac Toe Challenge 82 and SSS Monday Challenge "Frame It." I flipped the sketch on it's side for my card; I used the Layers, Shades of Red, and Die Cuts on the TTT board.

You
There are times when I create cards with no stamping because I DO love die cuts and stencils. Coincidentally, that is this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "No Stamps Allowed." This card project was made with a stencil from SSS; after applying distress ink to the elements, I mixed some Nuvo Glimmer Paste (Moonstone) with the Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and applied it over the yellow parts of the flowers. Of course this added dimension and lots of pizzazz to the card. The top of this card is sprinkled with Heidi Swapp gold Color Shine.

Thinking of You
This card project is perfect for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, "Frame It." Some of the products - Gina K. background stamp embossed in silver, Altenew Build-a-flower Hyacinth set, and the fancy frame from Spellbinders. The envelope is also a Gina K stamp. I love the color combination in this card.
Hello Fall
Getting into the fall mood! This card is for the My Favorite Things Challenges - Wednesday SKetch Challenge 506 and Color Challenge 149. I used MFT "Autumn Blessing" for the sentiment, Die-Namics leaves colored with Distress Ink, and a Mint Owl Stencil for the frame. I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Frame It."

Bursting with Happy Wishes
This card is for a male friend's birthday and I just love the silly image from Art Impressions "Birthday Wishes" stamp set. I die cut the panel with the MFT "Wonky Stitched Rectangle" die and used a extra black panel underneath for another layer. I often do this to "frame out" my card images. The card base here is green, picking up on some of the colors in the image. I am entering this card in Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Favorite Stamp," Wednesday Challenge "Humorous," and Art Impressions challenge "To Die For."
Piles of Fun
Today's card was inspired by the current My Favorite Things Challenges. I cracked open a set I hadn't used yet called "Piles of Fun." I thought the sentiment "Hope Your Day Is a Pile of Fun" was perfect for the fall. The images are colored with copic markers and the plaid is from one of the MFT patterned paper sets. Check out the sketch and color chart below. For the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, I used the right column, Orange, Leaves, Plaid.

Sending a Smile
There had been two birds on the original print which I made using a stencil I cut myself from the Hero Arts "Coloring Layering Bird" stamp and die set. The birds were were not as prominent as I wanted them to be, so I used Distress Ink to enhance them, and I also used Distress Embossing Glaze (a new product for me) in Vintage photo on the tails and Crackling Campfire on the breasts of the birds! As you can see, this embossing glaze is different than regular embossing powders because it remains clear enough to see the design beneath the embossing. Hence, the designs on the bodies of the birds from the original Gelli Print can be seen though the glaze. I love how this turned out and the whole project took on a mixed media feel.
The sentiments are a mixed bag - Simon Says Stamp for the "Sending" die which I stacked three together for added dimension, and a MFT stamp from "Smile Maker" which I cut to leave "a smile for you." I am entering this card project in 2 more challenges, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Stamp It" and the TicTackToe Challenge #80 (see the grid below - across the top, stripes, masculine, and blue.)
