Another card project for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "The Weather." This started with patterned paper to which I added some Simon Says Stamp "Stacked Hearts" with a few filled in. The umbrella is from Sugar Pea designs and the sentiment is from W Plus 9 Love set. Leaving the inside somewhat generic allows me to use this for several occasions.
Welcome to my blog. Ten years ago I discovered that making cards was super fun. I keep learning as I watched many expert crafters and artists on the internet. Thanks for stopping by.

Under the Weather
I have a few posts today. This card project came together fairly quickly. I used a MFT stamp with ink blotches (don't know the name) in a rainbow color pattern on water color paper. Raindrops were added with white embossing powder and a die cut umbrella from Sugar Pea Design. The sentiment is also from Sugar Pea "Whatever the Weather." This is for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "The Weather."

Celebrate Spring
Another Spring card on the blog today starting with an older stencil from Mint Owl and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink. The basket is from Waffle Flower using a new Memory Box Spring Plaid paper. The egg is made from paper I had made with the gelli plate in the past. The Floral Cluster is from Poppy Stamps and the die cut rabbit is from W Plus 9 "Going Places." Placing this on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
Happy Easter
This card is one of a dozen I made for Easter this year. I had to work on them early because I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery a week before Easter weekend. This is one of my favorites, and I am entering it the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Spring/ Easter." I started by making the plaid background with Pinfresh Studio's Simple Plaid stencil in several Distress Colors. I kept with those colors for the Waffle Flower Egg Hunt die, Poppy's Floral Cluster, W Plus 9's bunny die, and Newton Nook's sentiment, "Happy Easter."
Just for You
A quick post - this Altenew card project was inspired by their March Inspirational Color Challenge - which I made with the new Fairy Tale Florals stamp and stencil. I love how it turned out! I am also placing it on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Easter, Spring.

Santa's Little Helper
I just watched Mary Bush from Splitcoaststampers make a Tri-fold Card and decided to try it myself. I have never made this kind of card before. One thing that appealed to me was the idea of using some matching patterned paper, which I have in abundance. I went back to a kit from last year from Simon Says Stamp for the paper and the embellishment on the belly band, "Gnome for the Holidays." The gnomes is also from last year. The snow/tree panel inside is SSS Soft Snowfall die. This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Two or More Patterned Paper." And, I can add this to my Christmas stash. Plus, post it on Jenn Shurkus's Get Cracking on Christmas!

Tweeting You a Sweet Hello
Here is a one layer card using "Cute Critters" from My Favorite Things, and it fits their Wednesday Sketch Challenge #533 this week. I used copic markers to color everything and a fancy rectangle die to cut the panel.
Happy Birthday Bear
I assume that patterned paper means either store bought or home made, so this card project is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Two or More Patterned Paper." I love how this turned out! I used the birthday bear from Studio Katia colored with copic markers as the focal point. The shiny shaker balloon is from Sunny Studio. I added a piece of acetate on top which has tiny stars and glitter laminated in it (a Jennifer McGuire technique,) The top of the panel is Hero Arts Wish Big with black embossing over aqua paper. The bottom is Altenew Diamond Builder stencil with several colors of Distress Inks to match the rest of the card. I used a MFT die to cut the panel and added an embossed strip between them.
Holly Jolly
I like to make holiday cards all year so I am not caught short in December, so I created this one and followed the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Sketch Challenge (see below.) I used NN All Aboard for Christmas stamp and a sentiment from the Christmas Roundabout set. The paper is from Memory Box and the envelope is stenciled with a new plaid from Pink Fresh Studio. Since this card uses two patterned papers I will also place it on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
Gnome for the Holidays
For this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Use 2 or More Patterned Paper, I have a card with the SSS "Gnome for the Holidays." I used their "Mushroom House" die and a tree die from Poppy Stamps. Several different paper from my stash including patterned and textured. (The striped paper on the door is one of my favorites!)

For Some Bunny Special
The Art Impression Challenge Celebrate the Little Things was perfect for creating a small greeting card for Easter using the Tri-fold "Celebrate Spring" stamp set. I colored these images with water colors and the sentiments are from Poppy Stamps, Penny Black, and Simon Says Stamp. This was my first Tri-fold card. It was fun. I will try some more in the near future; I actually have two more sets I have never used!
Springtime Flowers
This next card is for Memory Box Challenge 70, Beautiful Backgrounds, and since I do not have any Memory Box background stamps, I made my own beautiful background with one of their dies, a favorite of mine actually. I cut out several and colored them with Distress Ink trying to at first get the look of Forget Me Nots. I have been thinking of my old yard which had tons of Forget Me Nots. LOVED THEM! But, I ended up making the centers Seedless Preserves so now they aren't Forget Me Nots! I couldn't decide whether I wanted a dark background or a light one, so I made two cards. "Healing Hugs" is from the Simon Says Stamp set with the same name with lots of spatters, and the navy card uses a sentiment from Poppy Stamps, embossed in white. Since this card is great for spring, I am also entering it in the Hero Arts Bring On Spring Challenge. I like both of these cards equally well.
Happy Day
Today's card is for a challenge which I haven't played in a long time. Hero Arts Challenge 21 Bring On Spring so I looked through my stash of HA products to find a few. I ended up with "Love Jar" and "Color Layering Happy Day Flowers," both are older stamps. I also used a stencil from HA called Kelly's Window Pane for the "table" in my scene. I used some dyes and some color pencils, plus embossing powder for the sentiment. I have tried flowers in jars before and am still not very good at it, but I like the look and the challenge. Lots of masking is the key!

Masculine Happy Birthday
Another masculine card! Yes, I have been trying to build up my stash for these. This card was one of those surprises which I did not plan out but which turned out to be a favorite. First I used the Altenew "Wood Pallet" stamp on natural card; then I stamped over the panel with a rubber leaf stamp of unknown origins, and embossed it with green powder. To continue the leaf theme, I cut 3 leaves from a die set by Ellen Hutson "Bold Blossoms" and tucked them behind my green embossed sentiment from My Favorite Things. I ink blended some Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink around the edges of the panel and in the middle of the leaves which came out terrific! Putting this card on both of the Simon Says Stamp Challenges - Monday "Add Some Green" and Wednesday "A Bit of Green."
Happy Birthday
I was trying to create another masculine card (below) although this could be used for anyone. I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Leaves stencil with texture texture paste over an ink blended panel; then I added a big die cut from My Favorite Things for the birthday greeting. This fits into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Use Something Green" and the Wednesday Challenge "A Bit of Green."
Masculine Sympathy Card
Here's a fairly simple card which I made with a masculine slant because I have so many sympathy cards which are full of flowers. I used a tone on tone color scheme and an Impression Obsession rubber background stamp, embossing the leaves. The "with" die is from My Favorite Things, and the "sympathy" die is from Honey Bee Stamps. This is for two Simon Says Stamp Challenges, Monday "Add Some Green" and Wednesday "A Bit of Green."
Just for You
I have a second entry for Penny Black Saturday Challenge, "Anything Goes/ Flowers." The stamp set is called "Good Neighbors" and the sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set. I water colored this image with a variety of water colors - some Daniel Smith and some new Arteza water color markers I just bought. The flowers on the envelope are from My Favorite Things. I am also going to place this on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "A Bit of Green."
Sending Hedgehugs
Today's card is a little scene full of critters and loving thoughts for My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #532. The stamp set is "Wonderful Woodland Friends" and I used scene building stencils for the grass and cloudy sky.

Thinking of You
For the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes or Flowers, I have the card project below. I was inspired by Sylvie's post for this challenge. It's just gorgeous with the black images on a muted background. I used the Penny Black stamp "Dandee" on top of a background I created by sprinkling Brusho on water color card stock. I added a butterfly from an older Stampin' Up set and a black embossed sentiment from Echo Park. The black mat enhances the details.
Sending Hugs
For this week's Monday challenge at Simon Says Stamp Use Something Green I have a SSS stencil "Leafy Frame." To get a more intricate design, I ink blended over the stencil and them moved it a bit before inking it again. The sentiment is a die from My Favorite Things. The envelope is decorated with one of the leaves in SSS "Leaves" stencil set.
Canterbury Bells
Thinking of spring, I have two card projects for 3 challenges - Altenew March Inspiration Challenge, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Beautiful Blossoms" and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Add Something Green." These cards feature the Altenew Canterbury Bells stamp die set. The hummingbird is from Stampendous; Birthday Wishes from Simon Says Stamp; Sympathy is from Honey Bee. The second card features background stamps from Impression Obsession. Thanks for checking my blog today.
Beach Girl
I wanted to learn how to make waves so I watched this VIDEO by Georgia Sommers, who works for Art Impression Stamps. It's easy to follow and yielded great results. Here is my card depicting one of my grandchildren playing on the beach. I am entering this in the Art Impression "Love is in the Air" challenge. I used sets - 4051, 4052, 4875, 5118, and 4270, plus the Molotow masking pen.

Wishing You the Happiest Birthday
Another card project with flowers... this one was created with the Simon Says Stamp Stencil "Bouquet of Roses" which I love on pink card rather than white! I masked off the leaves so I could apply separate color to flowers & leaves. The sentiment is also SSS. I used the Candlewick Rectangle die from Spell binders for a "framed" look over an aqua base. This is for the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Beautiful Blossoms."

Celebrating You Today
Hi again! Another quick post with a card using Altenew "Everlasting Happiness" stamp. I water colored this image with zig real brush markers and added black card behind for emphasis. Great for my stash since it can be used for many different occasions. Envelope decorated with a small stamp from Gina K. Designs. Entering this in the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp "Beautiful Blossoms" Challenge.
Happy Birthday
How perfect! I used the "Beautiful Flowers" set from Simon Says Stamp and this week's Challenge is "Beautiful Blossoms." I water colored the image and used some color pencils to add details. The clear droplets are from Pretty Pink Posh and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.
Sending Love
I made a card for someone special using some Art Impression stamps and Tombow water color markers. I used 5011 Truck Mini set, 5010 Tree set 1, 4964 Branches set, and some little grass stamps. This is for the Art Impression Challenge "Love is in the Air." I was pleased with the results, but wish I had made one of the images a bit more red instead of both of them being pretty much the same color. Also, I want to acknowledge Bonnie Krebs for always inspiring us. See her video HERE from a few years ago!
Loads of Wishes
The current Newton's Nook Inky Paws challenge is a color challenge - Yellow, Purple, White and Spring Green so I made a birthday card which could be used for just about anyone. The background is "Balloon Stencil" from NN and the copic colored wagon image is from "Wagon of Wishes" an older NN stamp. I added Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone to the balloons for some texture and glitz. The sentiment is a Impression Obsession die, cut three times and adhered for more dimension. I am entering this in the Inky Paws Challenge #143.
