A good coincidence this week - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #513 and Newton's Nook Inky Paws Sketch Challenge #135 are very similar, so naturally I took advantage of this and designed my card with both challenges in mind! It's a simple image colored with copics and mounted on a card base with some patterned paper. The image is from Newton's Nook,"All Aboard for Christmas." I used scalloped rectangle die from MFT Blueprint #27 adding to the festive theme. I have a slim line card planned for this stamp set, but it's still in the coloring stage. I might as well place this on the SSS Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes, too. Thanks for visiting my blog!
Welcome to my blog. Ten years ago I discovered that making cards was super fun. I keep learning as I watched many expert crafters and artists on the internet. Thanks for stopping by.

Gobble
Here's a fun slim line card for Thanksgiving. I used the dies from Trinity Stamps for the slim line design, a gnome set from Photo Play colored with copics which I think is so cute. The inside design gnome is from SSS, the bucket from Impression Obsession, pumpkin die from Memory Box (crackle paint added on top for dimension.) I am entering this in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #88 (Thanksgiving, Autumn, Rust) and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.
Thankful
I have been in the craft room every night lately. It helps to ground me and calm me in these turbulent times! Here's another Thanksgiving card. I made a similar card last year, but this year I used different dies and stamps. The fancy die had no label when I bought it from Amazon. It's a gorgeous rectangle die set. The stamps are all from Gina K Autumn Wreath Builder set. The sentiment "Thankful" is from Simon Says Stamp. The stencil for the envelope is from Carta Bella. Entering this in SSS Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes and the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #88 (Fall Colors, Thankful Sentiment, Free.)
Restful Christmas
I finally had a chance to try a stamp which I have had for at least a year from Penny Black, "Restful." I went back to watch Jill Foster's video for the products she used and then tried to match what I had in my craft room that would work. I made two cards. Didn't like the first one because the sky was too dark, so I made a second card. Looking at them now, I like both of them! I am entering one in the PBSC Saturday Challenge for October. I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.

Birthday Wishes Gate Fold
What fun I had last night! I bought these new dies from Poppy Stamps and created my first gate fold card. The main die is the Oval Fold Frame, and I also used the Picket Tall Curve Border. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. The small flower and leaves are from My Favorite Things "Spring Wreath" stamp set and the extra die cut leaves are Poppy "Leafy Spring Die." I just discovered that Poppy Stamps has a challenge, so that's the primary spot for this card project - October Challenge Think Pink! I will also enter it on SSS Wednesday Challenge "Layer It Up."

Friend Like No One Elf
Another cute elf holiday card finished. The images are from My Favorite Things "Santa's Elves" color just added a strip of gold card stock at the top for a little extra bling. I love the inside sentiment, also from MFT. The holly and berry stamps are from a very old MFT Set "Winter Warmth." Entering this card in the MFT Color Challenge #150 and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Layer It Up.
A Pile of Fun for Thanksgiving
This cute scene was created with several mediums - Derwent Inktense water color pencils, Daniel Smith water colors, and copic markers! The images are from My Favorite Things "Piles of Fun" and Purple Onion. Entering this in the following Challenges:

Merry Christmas
One more post today (Yea, I know I have made quite a few cards lately!) This card was inspired by the My Favorite Things Color Challenge #151. When I looked through my stash for a stamp set to use, I found one which I actually had never tried out! So I took an 11 x 8.5 piece of card stock and just stated stamping. This layering stamp from Altenew called "Majestic Mistletoe" is really fabulous, very large, and easy to use. I made several cards out of the sheet. Here's the one for this challenge. I am also going to place this on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Matching Envelope."
Jingle All the Way
This is another card I made with the Santa's Elves set from My Favorite Things and it pretty much fits with the MFT Color Challenge #151. (see below) The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set and I used patterned paper in the background this time. I am also going to share this with Get Cracking on ChristmasChallenge with Jenn Shurkus.

Blessing Mix Project
Here's a cute idea for a homemade gift. I don't recall where I saw the original idea... maybe Pinterest? But the Taylored Expressions "Sack it - Pumpkin" is perfect for the Blessing Mix which I typed up and then used for one side of the pumpkin, adding a few stamped images. Buy some canning jars and fill them with the ingredients in the Mix. Great little fall or Thanksgiving gifts! Placing this on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Not a Card."

Fall
Another fall card which uses products from several companies. Most of my cards are like this. The large sentiment is from Penny Black, the die cut leaves are from MFT and the background was created with Impression Obsession Dotted Argyle Red Rubber Stamp. One addition is the Distress Crackle Paint which gives the leaves some added texture after colored with Distress Inks. I am posting this card in several challenges: SSS Wednesday Challenge Card & Envelope, Tic Tac Toe Challenge #86 - (die cut, circle, stitching,) Penny Black Oct. Saturday Challenge "Anything Goes."
Paw Prints Never Fade
A friend of mine wanted me to create a sympathy card for her friend who lost a rabbit! Yes, a rabbit. So that was the motivation behind this cute card. The bunny is from MFT "Hoppy Friends" (copic markers) and the sentiment is from MFT "Critter Condolences" which I have used many times. I had a portion of card stock left from a previous project which I colored with Distress Inks using the Stencil "Diamond Builder" from Altenew so I added that at the bottom for some variety. I made a matching envelope as I always do using rainbow colors because of that "rainbow bridge" idea about one's pets when they die. Posting this in MFTSketch Challenge #511 and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Matching Envelope."

Curl Up With a Good Book!
This 4 bar card is for a friend who has had some health issues and was recently in the hospital for a few days. She and I are in the same book club, so I thought this stamp was perfect AND I can enter it in the Inky Paws Challenge #143 from Newton's Nook, using the colors Orange, Purple, Yellow, and Black.
Joy
Sometimes when I have extra time, I just color images so I have them on hand. These My Favorite Things elves are so cute that when I first got the stamp set, I colored a bunch with copic markers. Now this little guy has become one of my holiday cards for 2020. The patterned paper is from "Let It Snow" by American Craft and the sentiment is from MFT "Tag Greetings." The elves set is called "Santa's Elves." Entering this in the MFT Sketch Challenge #511. Also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Card & Matching Envelope." I am also going to enter this is Jenn Shurkus's Get Cracking On Christmas challenge. Check out Jenn's post here.

In My Prayers
A quick post this morning for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Card & Envelope." This is a Hero Arts stamp and die from a few years ago which I still love. The background is from Impression Obsession, and the panel is cut using a Spellbinder's Candlewick Rectangle. This is a sympathy card as you can see from the inside. And of course I stamped the envelope.

Happy Halloween
Another Halloween card for my friend to give to her grand-nieces which started with Distress Inks. This one uses Ghosts from Impression Obsession, a gorgeous Happy Halloween gate from Penny Black, a spooky tree silhouette from Clearly Besotted and some white splatters. I am entering this card in the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - anything goes or too cute to spook! and the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Spooky."

Happy Haunting
Normally, I don't make a ton of Halloween cards, but this year one of my friends asked me to make 12 for her grand-nieces and nephews. Here are two of the cards I created for her. I started with a Distress Ink background after masking a moon in the night sky. The ghosts are from Lawn Fawn "Booyah." and the silhouette at the bottom is from Impression Obsession. I am entering one of these in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Spooky."
Hello Fall Cart
Another fall inspired card which I sent to my sisters just to say hello and happy fall. I do not see them because they don't live near by so I like to send cards every once in a while. This one started with a water color background. I added the Lawn Fawn "Leafy Tree Background," Poppy Stamps "Large Garden Cart," Memory Box "Pinpoint Pumpkins." After inking up the pumpkins, I added Distress Crackle Paint in clear rock candy which gives them a bumpy dimension. I am entering this in the Tic Tac Toe Saturday Challenge #85. I used the left column: pumpkins, orange, and fall.
