Happy Birthday Birds

Hello again bloggers! One more card for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #295!
This one features images from "Things With Wings"
in copic pinks and turquoise on MFT patterned paper.
I figured I better use these sweet "summer" images while we still have summer like weather!
Thanks for checking out my blog.

      Here's the sketch - I flipped it!

Thanks

I just love the colors of fall, which is a total switch for me because I never liked orange! But, last autumn I bought so many terrific stamp sets and dies for fall cards that I fell in love with all the autumn colors! Here's a card using My Favorite Things Thankful Friend and It's a Sign; plus, the patterned paper is also from MFT (Farm Fresh Gingham and Fun & Frolic.)

I used the MFT Sketch 295 for my design.

Welcome Little One

One more card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge GO FISH! This card uses the Avery Elle stamp set called Swim Team. The whales are colored with copic markers and adhered to the back ground which was made with distress inks and a stencil from Simon Says Stamp.

Happy Birthday Fishes

Hi, I have a few new cards for the blog. This one is a masculine birthday card in greens, browns, and grayish tan. The back ground was created with several stencils and colors. The fish is from Art Impressions, and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.
I am entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge GO FISH!

Happy Dance

Weekend Hello! I have a cute card done for my step daughter. She recently had good news on two fronts related to her nursing career. One, she was accepted in to Drexel's (PA) Master's Program for September, and two, she is moving to the Cardiac ICU unit at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, DE where she works. Of course you know me. I couldn't make a card without thinking of a Card Challenge/ Sketch to enter, so this one is for My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #295.

PS - She loves penguins!

Happy Birthday/ Celebrate

Another birthday card for my stash! This one was designed for the
My Favorite Things Challenge Sketch #294.

I just got the candles die from My Favorite Things a few days ago and I was excited to be able to use it right away. I think the large size of these candles helps to make a big impact on a birthday card! I used some polka dot paper for the candles and found other solid and patterned paper for the rest of the card. The sentiment is from MFT "Adorable Elephants." The fireworks is a stencil from Clear Scraps which I embossed with white powder. I also applied Wink of Stella glitter to the candles, but it's very difficult to see in the picture. Here's the sketch I followed -

Happy Birthday for Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Stamping Smiles Designs is sponsoring another Tic Tac Toe Challenge # 16.
And, I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Make for the Border!

For my card, I followed the bottom line, Clothespin, Birthday, Patterned Paper. I also used MFT Birthday Candles Die, a fireworks stencil from Clear Scraps, MFT Adorable Elephants for the sentiment Happy Birthday. The patterned paper came from my stash. I was trying to match the basic colors in the polka dots.

For the fireworks I applied Versamark ink to the stencil and then embossed with white embossing powder. I also applied a coat of Wink of Stella glitter, but it's very difficult to see in the photo. I really like the candle dies because they are about an inch and a half tall thereby making a big impact.

Thank You (Absolutely)

Hooray!  I just got a few stamp sets from My Favorite Things. I used one of the stamps today - "Spotlight Sentiments" - for my entry into the MFT Sketch Challenge #294. I flipped the sketch (see below.) I also used "Simply Fabulous" set for the word Absolutely, the little girl from "Love is in the Air," Farm Fresh Gingham 6x6 patterned paper, Dots and Stripes 6x6 patterned paper, and a few black stars. I used copic markers to color the little girl and embossed the sentiment.

Flip the sketch upside down!

Happy Birthday

Hi blog followers! I have been busy the past few days making more cards and playing in my craft room. I created some colorful paper backgrounds with brusho and did some stenciling. You'll see some of these in the next few posts.

This card was created to fit three challenges. I have the products listed below.
My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #294 and
My Favorite Things Color Challenge #51

Teacher

Who's getting ready to go back to school? This card is for a special person
who has been teaching for a few years and doing a fabulous job!
I have a few other teachers I would like to send cards to if I have a chance to make them!
Our schools start here after Labor Day, so I should be able to get them finished.
I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Make for the Border!"

I used several stamp sets for this card, but the first thing I did was create the brick wall. For this I took the Brick Wall Cover up from Die Namics (MFT) and created a stencil with some acetate. I taped the stencil to my card stock and applied Distress Ink in several colors.

For the top of the card, I used a stamp from Avery Elle called "Petal Panel." I actually wanted the words to be a little more off-set, but I wasn't going to start over once the top was stamped. I think it turned out just fine.

The "teacher" die is from Simon Says Stamp, and the bus is from Mint Owl Studio's set "Class Act," stamped, colored with copic markers and fussy cut.

And, last there's a black border (hence the entry into Make for the Border challenge!)

You Shore Are Sweet

I hope you are having a good week, friends! I finished another card. This one is for three challenges:

The pun is shore obvious! LOL So many of Lawn Fawn's stamp sets have puns, but I chose to use Sugar Pea's "Seaside Wishes" as my focal point. I recently bought this set and wanted to try it before the summer was over!! I stamped the images to create a scene and colored them with copic markers. Check out the sketch to see how my card matches the challenge ...oh, you have to flip it upside down!  I also used Sugar Cuts "Whatever the Weather" sun for the circular element and some blue/white polka dot patterned paper for the base. Thanks for viewing my blog today. Have a great end of the week!

Moosed Up

Another card finished! This one is for Lawn Fawn's Lawnscape Challenge 336 Punny Time and

I have always loved the little moose from this set. It's Mint Owl Designs "I Moose You." The sentiments are cute and "punny" of course!  Poor Moose forgot a birthday AND got his balloon stuck. Don't you love his expression - it's like Pooh Bear saying "Oh Me, Oh My!"

For the background panel I used a piece of card stock which was "colored" with brusho water colors - yellow on top and green on the bottom. It was perfect for a bright sunny day. I die cut it and then moved the bottom piece a bit lower than the green tree border.!

Other products used for this card included: Lawn Fawn's Forrest Border and Stitched Hillside; Simon Says Stamp Celebration Time balloon; Elizabeth Craft die cut tree.

Happy Fall

Today's card was designed for the Sugar Pea Mix It Up Challenge #10.

Check out the sketch below, and turn it side ways to see how my design fits! I used Sugar Pea "Nuts About You" stamp set and sentiment. The squirrel is water colored and surrounded by some tiny leaves which are also water colored. To achieve the dimension on the maple leaf, I die cut it, applied distress ink, and then added Distress Crackle Paste - clear rock candy. It leaves an uneven surface with a sheen! I put everything together on a panel stamped with a "wooden" appearance. I am loving the autumn colors and working with some "fall" stamps. Thanks for joining me today!

Smile

Hi crafty friends! I have another card for the Simon Says Stamp

Isn't this a fun card! I used MFT Sun Ray and Sizzix Kites dies. The patterned paper was made with brusho and sprayed with Perfect Pearls in some water to add the sheen (hard to capture on here!) Finally, a short blog post! Whew!

Donut You know

August is half over ... wow ... where is the month going! I have another card for the Reverse Confetti #39 Sketch.  You can see the design below, but I decided to flip it upside down so I could fit the sentiment at the bottom.  I'm entering this card in the Reverse Confetti August Sketch for You to Try!

First, I used Doin the Wave Confetti Cuts to create an angled back ground with two patterned papers. I cut the Donut, icing, and sprinkles using the Donut You Know Stamp set and adhered them altogether. I added some Red Nuvo drops to the donut as well.  When I used the Double Panel Hearts, I cut one part with dark red and the other with light pink, thereby achieving the look you see here. This panel of hearts was perfect for the vertical rectangle and the donut was perfect for the circle! Thanks for following along with my blog today!

Summer Fruit

Hello blog readers! At the beginning of the summer, I was playing around with a new stamp set from Sunny Studios called "Fresh and Fruity." For this card I used the MFT Blueprint Sketch 27 frame with the four windows so I could place a piece of fruit in each one. These were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and fussy cut. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. This reminds me of summer - and everyone knows we get the sweetest fruit then! So, I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "SUMMER FUN!"

Summer fun in the Garden

I have several cards for the new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "SUMMER FUN." This first one was a turned into a birthday card. Since gardening is how I have fun (!) and flowers mean "summer" to me, it fits the challenge perfectly! This image was colored with copic markers and I purposefully made the tips of the leaves red because if you know peonies, this happens to them! Beautiful flowering shrub/perennial!

Tag You're It #53

Hi everyone!  I came across a new challenge, TAG YOU'RE IT! I was impressed with the tags I saw there and liked the idea of breaking out of the "card" making craze I've been in for the summer.

Below is the "inspiration" tag from Michele Ferguson. I have seen her beautiful work before. Her blog is I CARD EVERYONE. Check it out when you have a few minutes.

I was not only inspired by Michele's tag, but I was also excited to try a few new products I recently purchased. First, I got a stamp set from Sparkle N Sprinkle called "Honey Bees" when I was at the Scrapbooking Expo in Somerset this past weekend. Second, I recently bought TCW "Medium Dots" die which looks like a honeycomb! Third, I had a bumble bee hanging around my desk just waiting for the perfect spot to land!

To CASE Michele's tag, I wanted to duplicate the background circles, so I used a Large Polka Dot embossing folder from Stampin' UP, which was made by Sizzix. I also wanted to add some flowers similar to her embellishments. For these I used one of the My Favorite Things sets which includes flowers. Yellow flowers to match my theme of the honey bees. I added the yellow ribbon. Here's my finished tag for the Tag You're It #53.

I Dig You

Good morning bloggers. As some of you know, MFT sponsors a sketch challenge every week (and a color challenge every two weeks!) For some reason the sketch for this week was terribly difficult for me. I worked with this desing and my supplies for hours! This is the final product... and I can't even say that I love it! lol But, I'll enter it:  MFT Sketch Challenge #293.

I am not going to list all of my supplies. You've seen the Gnomes lots before. The "sun" die is a new one for me, and it's lots of fun to play with. Hard to see but there's light blue sky between the sun rays.

Shadow Stamping

It's the final challenge/ badge for My Favorite Things Camp Create, Stunning Shadow Stamping.  I decided to use the MFT color challenge for my card projects and enter them into both challenges at the same time.
Here is the pallet and my cards for Camp Create and Color Challenge #51.

I used the newer flower set "Fancy Florals" from MFT and the sentiment from "Beautiful Blooms." For the Shadow Stamping, you stamp with white pigment ink first and then again with color ink using the same stamp - placing it a little "off" center from the first image. This creates a shadow in a darker color where the ink hits the card directly rather than where it appears on top of the white pigment ink. I actually made two cards with this technique and the same set of colors. In real life I like the blue one better, but here the orange one looks great! Thanks for reading my blog today. I hope you had a good weekend! See you soon, Jeanne

MFT Camp Create Bonfire

My Favorite Things Camp Create 3 is winding down, but first a special badge for their Campfire Craft! This challenge was to make a one layer card which means lots of masking of course. For this card I used both masking paper and masking liquid. I used "Mini Modern Blooms" and "Mini Blooms" flower sets from My Favorite Things. Additionally, I used the MFT Color Challenge colors (see below,) so I am entering this card in two challenges!

This is what my desk looked like. Masks on vases.

Hap-bee Birthday

Hello everyone.  I had the wonderful opportunity to attend Scrapbook Expo in Somerset, NJ this past weekend. It was the first time I took paper crafting classes, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to thank my new "crafty" friend Cindy from Cards by Cindy for taking me to my first Expo!

One of the classes I took was sponsored by Sparkle N Sprinkle, and we made the cutest shaker card. I posted it here and am entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Lets Go Wild." Bees are wild after all!
